Electra – the beautiful, unflappable girlfriend of teen super Kid Sensation – headlines her own adventure for the first time.
A foundling adopted and raised by the Alpha League (the world’s greatest superhero team), Electra has exhibited super powers since infancy. However, her past has remained a mystery for the most part, with those few people with any knowledge of her background being reluctant to talk.
Refusing to remain ignorant of her own origins, Electra embarks on a fact-finding mission intent on discovering who she really is. However, in addition to providing more questions than answers, her investigation causes her to cross paths with a powerful group of supervillains, who see in her a means of furthering their goal of world domination.
Finding herself in the crosshairs, Electra must now find a way to stop those seeking to exploit her unique talents for their own nefarious purposes. Because if she can’t, the world will pay a heavy price.

This was a nice mini-mystery with Electra trying to find out a bit more about her parents. Honestly, I was impressed by the detail that Kevin put into her character here. He could have left this simple, but instead built a plot that made for an interesting, if extremely short tale.I'm not sure I agree with the motives of the characters as written. They are plausible, but I felt they relied a bit on a level of intellectual laziness on the part of the characters themselves, and that didn't fit with my impressions of the characters.
Still, for a very short mystery this had a good start, a steady pace and a complete, if slightly unsatisfying conclusion. OF course that just leaves plot threads dangling that Kid Sensation can claim in the next big story.
Not a top story, but fun, I'd say almost 4 stars, but the 3rd act just left me feeling like it was a "tastes great, not filling" tale and brought it down to a high 3 star in my opinion.

Amped A Kid Sensation Companion Novel eBook Kevin Hardman Reviews
I like it because is good. Explore the world of kid sensation in good way. It make sense Electra have is own book so you no need this story en mean Books.
Another great entry in the series. Waiting eagerly for more.
I felt that the character back story was pretty good. Even though I'm in my 30s, I look forward to reading what's next for Electra and Jim
This is an awesome companion novel. I can t wait that till the next one. The next one is about our favorite Mouse. I hope we get to see how he joins the alpha league.
I'm a fan. I like Hardman's writing and the perils and adventures he places his characters in. It was also cool to see this world from a different perspective, and it gave us nice side story on the other people in Jim's life. As always, looking forward to the next book.
Set in the same period as Coronation (Book 5) the story follows Electra as she tries to find her origin. An orphan, Electra was adopted by the League, but now she wants to see if she can find out her birth family. A mix of detective, superhero, and science-fiction makes the story first-rate. Will Electra survive finding her origins? Read it and see.
I really didn't feel the need for story here. Without spoiling it or going into it too far, I felt the entire book could have been condensed into a flashback chapter in an upcoming better book. The entire story FELT rushed, with everything being handed out without any true effort from the protagonist. The end was horrible, with an almost fairy-tale ending, kinda like at the end of a bad disaster movie, we get a shot of "oh look..the dog survived" everything is going to be OK.
The one valid storyline in the book that could have been pursued, but wasn't, was the patronizing attitudes of adult Supers towards teenage Supers. Electra had a very valid point in that the teenage superheroes are expected to pitch in and help when needed, There is an expectation of Adult reasoning and responsibility when performing as a Super, but the teenage Supers are treated like children once back at Base/Home. The actions taken to protect others and help with the aftermath of a natural or man-made disaster cause one to grow up quickly, especially for a child still undergoing puberty. Plus the exploration of the legal issues regarding an underage superhero being held to account for some very adult actions and responsibility would be an interesting read.
However, that issue is overlooked and what is left is essentially a throw-away story. I never felt the protagonist was in any real danger, plus I could have really cared less about any of the characters in the book.
